This branch event is open to BASW members and non-members, students, social workers and retired social workers living, working or studying in the North Yorkshire area. Speaker: Jo Marriott
North Yorkshire Council Housing Service – work towards accreditation through the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance Jo Marriott has a background working in Homelessness and Housing Support for 15 years. She is now leading a project that includes work on policies and procedures, staff training and support, communication and awareness alongside multi-agency working and linking across directorates within the council.
Social work has a key role to play in supporting the rights of individuals, families experiences or impacted by domestic abuse in relation to housing and in supporting and contributing to the multi-agency working.
The project’s success depends on working towards trauma awareness and a trauma-informed approach. Find out how North Yorkshire Council are improving the response to domestic abuse within the local Housing Service.
