Cheshire West overturned: Implications for social workers

One 2 June 2026 the Supreme Court issued a ‘seismic' judgement on Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLs) overturning the Cheshire West judgement. This webinar will address what this judgement means and the implications for social workers.

Speakers will include Martin Sexton (PSW and Co -Chair of the National MCA/DOLs network) ) Annie Ho, an expert in Adult Safeguarding with extensive experience of the Court of Protection and Dr Alex Cisneros, barrister at 39 Essex Chambers where he specialises in public law and private client work with a particular focus on mental capacity.

This is an essential event for social workers working in the field of mental capacity and DoLs in England and Wales.
