Skills & Knowledge: Next Steps in Trauma Informed Practice 

Are you ready to deepen your understanding of psychological trauma and gain skills and knowledge to strengthen your practice? Drawing on the Social Identity Model of Identity Change to understand different personal responses to trauma, we will explore concepts of post traumatic stress and post traumatic growth. This session will give a good theoretical understanding of the impact of trauma on relationships and social identity, and how working with social identity can mitigate the impact of trauma.  

Learning Outcomes 

  • Introducing the Social Identity Model of Identity change in the context of trauma 

  • Understanding how social identity can influence trauma response in individuals 

  • Explore the concept of post traumatic growth and how to facilitate this in practice 

  • Explore relationship based practice in the context of social identity 

This workshop is designed to complement training offered through NES and the National Trauma Training Programme.
