I work with individuals that are placed in care homes, nursing homes or hospital and consider their ability to make decisions about their lives and the necessity for the restrictions they are living under. I ensure that work in collaboration with the individual, their family and friends, the staff and any other professionals or anyone else involved in making decisions for their care. I ensure that any restrictions are in the person’s best interests and if not, I report back to the Local Authority who would confirm whether or not the risks to the person’s health warrants the removal of their right to liberty for a specified period of time.
