Policy Ethics and Human Rights (PEHR) Committee vacancies
In order to be eligible for consideration, you MUST be a current BASW member and your membership must run throughout your term of office on the committee.
Applications are now invited for membership of the Policy Ethics and Human Rights (PEHR) Committee.
PEHR’s main role is to advise BASW Council when developing policies and position statements to ensure that they promote respect for human rights and are consistent with BASW’s Code of Ethics.
We warmly welcome diverse perspectives in accomplishing this important task.
Through participation in this work, the role additionally provides an opportunity to strengthen your CV.
Successful candidates will normally serve for a two-year period which can be extended for a further two-year period.
There are usually 4 meetings per year. These meetings are “hybrid” so members may join either online or in person. When joining in-person, reasonable travelling expenses will be met. There is also an expectation that committee members progress work between formal meetings when required.
If you would like an informal discussion on the role with the Chair before applying, please contact Annie Ho (PEHR Chair) on annie.ho@baswcouncil.co.uk
To request an application form please contact policyadmin@basw.co.uk
The closing date for this round of applications is 11.59pm, Sunday 30th March 2025
Please note: If at some point in the future you would like to stand for Chair of the PEHR Committee when the role becomes available, there is now a minimum requirement to serve for 6 months on this committee prior to your nomination
