Council vacancies - Elected Directors
Elected Directors play a key part in setting BASW’s direction and overseeing its mission as part of Council. They can take on other responsibilities and activities relevant to their interests and expertise and may represent BASW externally. We are looking for people committed to social work, who can represent members, offer insight and accountability and act as a company director.
Committee vacancies
BASW PEHR Committee Chair
Applications are invited for the Chair of the Policy Ethics and Human Rights Committee (PEHR).
PEHR is responsible to Council for advising on matters of UK policy, two nation matters, ethics and human rights in relation to social work.
Applications are particularly welcome from members who have an interest in policy, ethics and human rights in the practice of social work.
BASW International Committee Chair
Applications are invited for the Chair of the International Committee (IC).
IC is responsible to Council for advising on matters of international social work.
Applications are particularly welcome from members who have an interest in international social work, or who have experience of working in other countries, or knowledge of supporting the delivery of international social work services, research or education.
Risk & Audit Committee
We are looking for Committee members, who may already have experience in audit, finance, law, IT/data, or risk management; and/or Risk & Audit Committee experience in either the public or private sector, but this is an excellent CPD opportunity for those who do not currently have this knowledge and would like to develop these skills, as full training and support will be provided.
Finance & Organisational Development Committee
Candidates will have different levels of experience, and this is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills. You will gain experience in organisational and business development, human resources, and financial management. Training and support will be provided.
Recognition & Remuneration Committee
As a member of the Committee, you will contribute to upholding the rights and interests of members while ensuring fair and appropriate remuneration practices. This role provides a valuable opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain experience in organisational governance, business development, and financial management, and engage in strategic decision-making. Training and support will be provided.
