The Independent Review of Children's Social Care (IRCSC) has recently released its 'Case for Change' report. BASW England is seeking feedback from members on the document to help inform its overall response
As part of BASW England's commitment to engage with politicians around social work, we created a manifesto with the six issues that we would be campaigning on over the coming year.
BASW has approached candidates across some of the Mayoral elections in England, to seek their views and vision for social work in their respective regions.
The guide was developed in collaboration with valued stakeholders including Women’s Aid, Galop, Southall Black Sisters, Sign Health, Karma Nirvana, Respect, AVA, Ann Craft Trust, Dr Michaela Rogers at the University of Sheffield, as well as people with lived experience and BASW members.
As social workers, we must do better, not only to protect our female-majority workforce, but also to champion the rights of the women and girls we support
In this blog, I wish to focus not on the appointment process, or the chair himself - rather, on the hundreds of thousands of care experienced people this review will impact, many of whom will remain forever anonymous and unknown to us.
