Lauren Starkey
About
I specialise in working with asylum-seeking children and young people, particularly those who have experienced trafficking and exploitation. I undertake reports commissioned by solicitors, local authorities, and other support providers in asylum and immigration matters. My assessments and safety plans are based on a systemic approach and provide a holistic view of people’s needs. I offer direct work to young people where there is a need to develop their understanding of risk and safety, and I advocate for the highest standards of care. I provide evidence in support of the appropriate use of Section 45 of the Modern Slavery Act in criminal cases involving trafficked children and young people.
