Amazing Social Workers is a campaign to recognise individual and collective achievements in social work. By taking part, you not only get the chance to pay tribute to a colleague, but also help us to raise the public profile of our profession and recognise its value and importance.
Inspiring and creative social work practice takes place everyday. It makes a positive difference to adults, children, families and communities across the UK, providing them with essential support and improving people's lives.
So let's celebrate and say thank you to the amazing individuals and teams making it happen!

Who should you nominate?
We are inviting nominations for amazing colleagues including:
- Social workers
- Team managers
- Newly qualified social workers
- Students
- Practice educators
- Social work leaders
- Or even your amazing team!
- And others
It might be a colleague or someone who inspires you. You might want to recognise their work with individuals, how they have made a difference to someone’s life, for their contribution to social work policy, practice or education, they might be an influential leader, on the front line, a student, a role model, an innovator, or a champion for diversity and inclusiveness. The reasons are endless.
Key dates
Nominations will open shortly in November 2024.
Amazing Social Workers will be shared online from 1 March 2025 and throughout World Social Work Month.
What is the judging criteria?
All nominations will be judged based on their outstanding contribution to the profession, or within your team. In particular we are looking for examples of excellent work in supporting people and nominations that demonstrate outstanding ethical practice in line with BASW's Code of Ethics
The nomination must only link to social work and their amazing impact. The person nominated must be a current or former social worker, or a student social worker, practice educator.
