Special Interest Groups (SIGs) focus on a particular issue or service area.

Being part of a local BASW branch offers a regular chance to network with colleagues who also work or study social work in your area; this means when you identify local needs, problems or information to be aware of you have a ready-made group of colleagues to discuss with. There may be issues that present in the area, that you could take some collective action on and raise the profile of a particular problem, your voice is much more likely to be heard as a group.
