BASW CEO Ruth Allen speaks to BBC radio urging “more accurate depictions of social work” on TV
BASW CEO Ruth Allen appeared on BBC Sussex radio to following the recent controversial storyline on BBC's Eastenders involving a social worker issuing child protection measures that sparked outcry from some quarters of the social care community.
BASW has written an open letter to the producers of the show calling for “more accurate, and more positive, depictions of social workers and social work”, and Allen repeated this message on the radio this morning in an interview with BBC Sussex radio presenter Jeni Barnett.
