BASW eCard campaign raises over £500

BASW is delighted to report our Christmas eCard campaign raised over £500 for homeless charities.

The money will be split between the following four shelters across the UK: Birmingham Christmas Shelter; Welcome organisation, Belfast; St Mary’s Hostel, North Wales Housing, Bangor and FourSquare, Edinburgh

The eCard campaign saw BASW members, staff and the wider social worker community buying eCards to send to family, friends and colleagues during Christmas.

BASW would like to thank everyone who bought an eCard and supported the campaign, as well as those that donated to the BASW JustGiving page.

Shirley Mason, Treasurer and Trustee at Birmingham Christmas Shelter, a recipient of money raised, said: “We are delighted to receive this support from the social work community from across the UK.”

“We accommodate around 160 homeless and vulnerable people each day during Christmas week and provide food, shelter and care services such as shower facilities and toiletries.”

She added: “Our quests left notes to say how grateful they were that people donated and thought about them during the festive period.”
