BASW England concerned about reporting in Family Courts
Official response to draft guidance on reporting in the Family Courts outlines concerns about child confidentiality
The BASW England Children and Families Practice, Policy and Education Group (PPEG), who are involved in the consultation on reporting in the Family Courts, have responded to the most recent draft guidance.
In a letter to the President of the Family Division of the High Court, the group welcomed the clarification the guidance brings, but remained “concerned about the potential for children to have their confidentiality breached”.
The group also stated they were “mindful of the need and right to privacy of others, including; birth parents, siblings foster carers, extended friends and family and professionals”.
