BASW pays tribute to Paul Goggins MP
Following the untimely death of Paul Goggins MP, BASW Chief Executive Bridget Robb has paid tribute to Paul for his contribution to social work.
Paul was a former social worker and an active member of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on social work, who died suddenly on 8 January just over a week after he collapsed while out running with his son.
Bridget Robb said: “We would like to extend our condolences to Paul’s family and thank him for being such a friend to social workers.
“A former social worker, Paul was a dedicated member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on social work and took a lead role during a recent inquiry into the state of social work.
“Paul stayed true to his roots and principles and showed a genuine and deep understanding of the concerns raised by social workers. He had a real desire to change people’s lives for the better.
“Above all, he was kind, courteous to all and a genuinely nice person who will be greatly missed.”
