BASW welcomes new IFSW European VP

John Brennan from the Irish Association of Social Workers elected to post

BASW welcomes the news that John Brennan has been elected the new European Vice President of the International Federation of Social Workers.

John has worked closely with the IFSW and BASW for several years, especially in his role as Chair of the Irish Association of Social Workers.

He played a pivotal role in coordinating the Joint World Social Work and Social Development conference recently held in Dublin last year.

Gerry Nosowska, Chair of BASW, said: “On behalf of the British Association of Social Workers I would like to congratulate John on his new post. We look forward to working with him on important issues in social work, especially how we support social workers and promote ethical practice in the context of global change and inequality.”
