Independent review of Learning Disability and Autism in the Mental Health Act
The Stage 3 - and final - report on the Independent Review of Learning Disability and Autism in the Mental Health Act is now available, here. The review team are asking key stakeholders what they think should change and what should stay the same in the Mental Health Act.
This includes changes to the role of Mental Health Officers such as requirements to carry out full human rights assessments and a movement away from the medical model.
SASW are surveying MHOs to find out their views on the role and scope of MHOs in the context of the review.
