A new website to help professionals and those who work with children to gain knowledge and understanding of children and young peoples mental health needs
MindEd is a new website which was launched in London on 24th March 2014. The conference was attended by Dr. Maggie Atkinson, Children’s Commissioner and Norman Lamb MP, Minister of State for Care and Support.
MindEd is a free online education website to help adults identify and understand children and young people with mental health issues. MindEd has been written by experts in their field and is evidence based. It provides free practical e-learning sessions when and wherever they are needed, quickly building up knowledge. It is intended to be used by anyone who works with children in a professional or voluntary capacity. It has open access and can also be used by parents. MindEd say,“With three-quarters of adult mental disorders in evidence by the age of 21, effective early interventions are essential in preventing the development of ill health and disability - help us to help the one million adults who work with children and young people support the development of young healthy minds”.

Denise Ead a social worker in Mental Health and on behalf of British Association of Social Workers (BASW) was part of a Focus Group during the development of the website. Denise attended the launch and is keen to tell others about this website.
