Review of Children's Social Care agrees to Children's Rights Impact Assessment: BASW England response
The Review of Children's Social Care has agreed to sector-wide calls to conduct a Children's Rights Impact Assessment (CRIA), ahead of its final recommendations.
CRIAs are an essential mechanism to help ensure that government policy, legislation and budgeting are consistent with international children’s rights standards.
BASW England welcomes this development. Alongside other members of the coalition of coalitions, BASW England’s members have consistently stated that children's rights must be at the heart of the Review of Children's Social Care.
Going forward, we urge the Review to address all of BASW England's 10 Priorities for the Review of Children's Social Care and the concerns set out in BASW England's response to the 'Case for Change' report.
