Sad loss of social worker to Covid-19
The British Association of Social Workers (BASW) is deeply saddened to hear news of the loss of social worker, Irvin Fantie Moyo, to coronavirus.
Irvin who worked for Tower Hamlets Council passed away on 1 May 2020 in hospital.
The news of the loss of another social worker affects everyone in the social work family. Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues of Irvin at this very difficult time.
A spokesperson for Tower Hamlets Council said: “We can confirm with great sadness that Irvin Moyo, an agency social worker for the council, passed away on May 1, 2020 in hospital due to Covid-19.
“Irvin had worked for us since September and was a respected, popular and valued member of staff.
“We extend our sincerest condolences to his family at this very difficult time.”
Irvin’s family have set up an online fundraising campaign to pay for a funeral next month and a memorial when travelling restrictions are eased.
