SWU members please have a look at our Annual Report and once more it has been a busy and successful year for SWU. Paying an additional £25 guarantees that employers accept A&R representation which cannot be guaranteed by BASW as they are not a trade union. In addition, the annual report provides a flavour of our activities and success as a specialist trade union for social workers and one of the fastest growing unions in Europe.
'I am pleased to report that this has been another great year for the union. Membership continues to rise, currently at 13,600, showing that we are moving in the right direction. When I was first elected as the General Secretary in September 2016 membership was just over 9000 and I would love to see us break through the 14,000-membership barrier by the end of the year. Interest in the union has been phenomenal'.
