World Social Work Day: The social worker who changed my life
To mark World Social Work Day, BASW England Patron Jenny Molloy shared her story with The Guardian about how social work shaped her life. The article is titled The social worker who changed my life.
Jenny Molloy remembered the challenges, but also the stability provided by her social worker: “I was so lucky. I had the same area social worker and the same area senior social worker for seven years … It was like a parental relationship where you get really angry and all that sort of stuff but it’s all forgotten when you needed them.”
This story is featured alongside the reflections of writer Ming Ho, academic development officer in higher education Christopher Hoyle, broadcaster, journalist and campaigner David Akinsanya, foster carer Debbie Bright and her daughter Lydia-Rose Bright, star of The Only Way is Essex.
