Anonymous egg, sperm and embryo donors … please read this!

Anonymous egg, sperm and embryo donors … please read this!

Did you donate your eggs, sperm or embryos before April 2005? Are you interested in the outcome? Have you ever wondered whether anyone else out there shares your talents or your hobbies, has any of your characteristics or have you ever wanted to know how they are? If so, you’re not alone.  Donor conceived people are often curious about their donor's background, personality and medical history. Information about you and/or the opportunity to have contact with you could be of great benefit to them and their families.

So have you thought about up-dating the information about you and have you ever thought about re-registering your details to be identifiable to young people from the age of 18?  There are no legal or financial obligations from taking this step.

Are you interested in finding out more about what re-registration involves? If so, you can contact either the clinic where you were a donor or the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority (HFEA) on 020 7291 8200. You may also find it helpful to visit the HFEA website where there is useful information about the process of re-registration.
