Call for recognition of social work during disasters
BASW England and ADASS have co-produced a report outlining the role social workers play in disaster recovery
As part of BASW England’s Social Workers in Disasters project, a document has been co-produced with the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) that sets out the role of the Director of Adult Social Services (DASS) and social workers in disaster recovery.
The document sets out key recommendations for both roles, including greater clarity and uniformity of the HALO role in all local authorities. The document can be viewed here.
