A statement of gratitude to BASW Cymru members
All of the team and committee in BASW Cymru would like to thank you for all of your hard work and commitment in this extraordinary year. As well as finding the strength and resilience to support some of the most vulnerable people in Wales, in compassionate and innovative ways. We must not forget that you too have been dealing with the impact of this awful virus in your own families and communities. You have experienced loss and sadness, but also acts of kindness, moments of humour and real comradery.
We know that the recently announced Tier 4 lockdown for the whole of Wales will have a profound impact on many of your plans to be with family and loved ones. We hope you can find other ways to maintain this vital contact and that you find joy and recuperation until you can once again, meet in person - this day will come.
For those social workers working in duty teams, we send you our heartfelt gratitude for the essential work you do to safeguard and protect vulnerable children and adults at this time.
In 2021, BASW Cymru will not stop ensuring that social workers have a strong voice and are heard at the highest levels of Government, Policy and Regulation in Wales. You must be given the recognition, respect and reward you deserve for the service you have given and will continue to give, in 2021 and beyond.
With deepest respect and gratitude, we wish you a restful and healthy festive period.
