Recognising loss: 8pm on Monday 8th February
As we near a year of living with Covid, we want to pause and reflect on the impact of the pandemic on our lives, our profession and our community.
On Monday the 8th at 8pm, BASW Honorary Officers, Council and staff will hold a two minute silence to acknowledge the struggle, grief and loss within our social work family and our society and across the globe
We invite you to pause with us, light a candle, remember colleagues and loved ones, and reflect in community with social workers across the UK and international community
We are currently contemplating how to ensure ongoing and permanent recognition of social workers’ contribution and experiences during Covid, including remembrance of colleagues we have lost. And how best to honour the legacy of social workers in the pandemic through our social justice work.
We feel it is also right, as we come towards spring, to acknowledge the impact of this hard year and to come together in support and recognition.
Please join us on Monday.
