BASW England’s chair has warned of a “perfect storm” in the year ahead for social work against a backdrop of greater pressure on people and cuts to public services.
There has been a 63 per cent increase this year in the number of social workers applying for financial help from the Social Work Benevolent Trust, the BASW Annual Members Meeting heard.
The pandemic has resulted in ‘new social work skills’ including being able to function in an online world, BASW’s annual student and NQSW conference heard.
