BASW condemns President's Club 'men-only' event

The British Association of Social Workers condemns the now infamous President's Club men-only event, and joins those voices from across the political spectrum that are appalled at alleged misogynist behaviour.

It is deplorable that young females were told to wear skimpy outfits as hostesses to men in positions of power, encouraged to flirt with them, told to sign non-disclosure agreements and then find themselves being groped and propositioned.

BASW supports the MPs and organisations that have called for a police investigation into this event and looks forward to adding our voice to the Sexual Awareness and Sexual Violence Awareness Week campaign that begins 5th February.
