BASW invites honorary officer nominations
Membership continues to rise and BASW’s visibility and impact on the sector is increasing. The Association is now seeking nominations for the honorary officer posts of BASW Chair, BASW Vice Chair and Chair Finance & Human Resources Committee.
Candidates must have been members of the Association for a minimum of three years continuously immediately prior to nomination. Successful candidates will take office at the end of the BASW UK Annual General Meeting on 14 June 2012.

BASW ChairThe Chair of the Association is responsible for leading BASW as the professional association for social work, and BASW Council in exercising its legal responsibilities. Candidates will need to possess effective leadership and chairing skills and be available to work on Association business for up to two days per week for which remuneration of £10,000 is provided.
The Chair will be a director and honorary officer of the Association and will hold office for an initial period of two years.

BASW Vice ChairThe BASW Vice Chair will be a member of BASW Council and will be responsible for promoting BASW policy as Chair of the Association’s Policy, Ethics & Human Rights Committee. The Vice Chair will deputise for the BASW Chair as required. The person nominated must have the ability and passion to promote social work at a time of significant change for the profession and to work effectively with the media. It is anticipated that the duties of the Vice Chair will entail a commitment of up to one day per week for which remuneration of £5,000 is provided.
The Vice Chair will be a director and honorary officer of the Association and will hold office for an initial period of two years.

Chair of Finance & Human Resources Committee
The Chair of the Finance & Human Resources Committee will be responsible for reporting to BASW Council on the work of this Committee which is responsible for ensuring that the Association properly exercises its financial and staffing responsibilities. It is anticipated that these duties will entail a commitment of up to one day per week for which remuneration of £5,000 is provided.
The successful candidate will be a director and honorary officer of the Association and will hold office for an initial period of two years.
