BASW issues 'call to action' for anti-poverty campaign
The Chancellor will deliver his Spring Budget on 15th March, which will announcing spending and taxation plans for the year ahead.
BASW UK has already written to the Treasury urging the Chancellor to:
1. Extend the debt breathing space to 180 days
2. Freeze evictions during the cost of living crisis to prevent further homelessness
3. Scrap the two-child cap on benefits
BASW UK and SWU have also joined the "Together Against This Crisis" campaign coalition demanding urgent action from the UK Government to address findings that 1 in 4 people across the UK are struggling to afford essential items each month.
BASW is therefore asking members to help amplify social work's voice against poverty, inequality and the catastrophic cost-of-living crisis the country is facing.
