BASW remains committed to celebrating social workers at awards

It is important to celebrate the fantastic contribution that social workers make every day to people’s lives across the UK at the Social Worker Awards

We have been pleased to be the corporate and professional sponsor of the England Social Work Awards (SWA) for many years.

As a profession driven by our values and social ethics, we acknowledge and fully understand the concerns that some social workers and others have raised about the importance of ensuring ethical sponsorship for the SWA.

The SWA draw on a broad range of sponsorship funding from diverse organisations to run and host a large and increasingly well-known event.

This throws up contentious issues on occasions, which need to be properly worked through, and we are in active and constructive dialogue with the SWA’s organisers about addressing these issues.
