BASW responds to tragic death of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes
The British Association of Social Workers sends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and all those affected by the horrific murder of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes.
Every child’s life is precious, and we all need to learn from this terrible tragedy.
We await the outcome of the Local Child Safeguarding Practice Review and Independent Police Review, to understand findings and learning, including the potential impact of the pandemic and lockdowns.
The death of a child in these circumstances is a tragedy for a community and wider society as well as acutely painful for those who cared most about Arthur. Our thoughts are with everyone affected at this incredibly sad time.
