BASW statement on Beirut disaster

BASW would like to send its condolences to the citizens of Beirut, Lebanon following the explosion that has caused such loss and carnage this week.

Our heartfelt thoughts are with all the families and friends of the bereaved, injured, homeless and those searching for loved ones that are missing.

The international community must support the emergency response now and in the future, including a commitment to the social work response that will inevitably be needed to help citizens recover from this tragedy. 

Members who would like to donate to the international aid effort can do so through emergency appeals from Save The Children and the Red Cross.
