Being a social worker in Wales – tell it like it is
BASW Cymru wants to know about the working conditions of social workers in Wales.
The aim is to find out what the day-to-day experience is like for practitioners in the country so as to better understand the things that work well and what needs to improve.
Social workers in Wales are urged to pass on their feedback to BASW Cymru, which will use the information to campaign for better working conditions.
Questions to explore include whether you have enough time for reflection and is your supervision meaningful and more than just case discussion? Are you able to access good quality training? Do you accrue TOIL and if so do you get to use it? Does your employer make you feel valued? What is your working environment like? Do you hotdesk, or share a desk/phone/computer? Are there hurdles that make it difficult to do your job? Are there measures that make a positive difference to your work?
Please tell us as much as you can about your life in practice so BASW Cymru can campaign for change on your behalf.
