Celebrating Pride Month 2021

During Pride Month, we are encouraging everyone to share celebrations and activities using the hashtag #BASWPride21.

Every June, people come together to celebrate Pride Month, a month dedicated to championing LGBTQIA+ communities both in the UK and around the world.

Pride is held in June to mark the anniversary of the Stonewall riots, a series of protests that occurred in New York City after police attempted to raid the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay bar, in June 1969.

There are so many ways to celebrate and show support for Pride 2021.

During Pride Month, we are encouraging everyone to share celebrations and activities using the hashtag #BASWPride21.

Here are some ideas for how you can get involved:

  • Share what LGBTQIA+ Pride means to you
  • Tune into a virtual pride event 
  • Share your favourite Pride memory
  • Change your online meetings background to Pride colours
  • Make a donation to an LGBTQIA+ organisation during the month of June
  • Share coming out stories
  • Wear rainbow colours
  • Share a Pride playlist for people to enjoy
