Challenge Poverty Week
Challenge Poverty Week
5th – 11th October 2020
Challenge Poverty Week is an opportunity for you to raise your voice against poverty and show what is being done to tackle poverty across Scotland. Organisations large and small are supporting Challenge Poverty Week - including the team at SASW.
The main aims of the week are to:
- Highlight the reality of poverty and challenge the stereotypes
- Showcase the solutions to poverty
- Increase public support for action to solve poverty
The SASW team will be sharing lots of creative content throughout the week, from blogs, to videos to podcasts - all to raise awareness of poverty and the role that social workers play in supporting those experiencing it. Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook profiles for updates and join in the conversation using the hashtags #ChallengePoverty and #TogetherWeCan.
We will even be embarking on a 24 hour digital blackout to raise money for People Know How and their work combating digital exclusion, an issue that was greatly exacberated during lockdown.
