Friends, Families and Travellers launch suicide prevention study
On Friday 10th September, Friends, Families and Travellers launched a study which seeks to uncover suicide prevalence and causes in Romani, Traveller and nomadic communities in England, Scotland and Wales.
You can find the study here
There is also a phone number which people who have no or literacy can use to respond to the study verbally and a clear process for triaging anyone experiencing a mental health crisis is in place, as well as a list of mental health services available for anyone who is experiencing poor mental health.
BASW Cymru's National Director, Allison Hulmes - also member of the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Social Work Association (GRTSW) - can offer support to anyone in completing the form. If you would like to contact Allison on this matter, please email allison.hulmes@basw.co.uk
