Health and social care unite to launch Action for Care-Workers Wellbeing
Today, on World Mental Health Day (10 October 2018), Action for Care-Workers Wellbeing (ACW) has been launched.
Facilitated by BASW, ACW is a collaborative network of professionals from the NHS and social care who represent a wide range of key UK caring professions (Nursing, General Practice, Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work and Paramedics).
The group’s aim is to raise awareness of stress and burnout within the health and social care workforce, identify solutions, and propose policies for change.
At a launch event today in London, ACW will exploring whole-systems policy solutions to the increasing and worsening cases of stress, burn-out, and mental and physical illness within the social work and NHS workforce.
“This forum will provide a unique context for the workforce to collate evidence, raise awareness, initiate and lead debates; and define the safety and professional standards relating to care workers well-being,” says Dr. Ruth Allen, CEO of BASW.
A full write up of the launch will be posted shortly.
