Holocaust Memorial Day 2022
Join us in marking Holocaust Memorial Day on 27 January 2022
BASW is supporting Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD), an international awareness day on 27 January to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, alongside the millions of other people killed under Nazi Persecution and in genocides that followed around the world, including in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
Holocaust Memorial Day 2022: 'One Day'
One Day is the theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2022. Survivors of the Holocaust and of genocide often talk about the One Day when everything changed.
Please join us on 27 January to support Holocaust Memorial Day
There are many ways to get involved and raise awareness of HMD 2022:
- Light a candle and safely put it in your window at 8pm on 27 January. To remember those who were murdered for who they were. To stand against prejudice today. Upload a photo of your candle on social media, using the hashtags #HolocaustMemorialDay #LightTheDarkness. You can also download social media graphics to accompany your posts via the Holocaust Memorial Day website.
- Watch the UK Ceremony for Holocaust Memorial Day - streamed online on 27 January at 7pm
- Use social media to raise awareness of HMD, sharing images and messages using #HolocaustMemorialDay #HMD2022 #LightTheDarkness
- Share content such as a blog or poem with BASW to share on our website. Please get in touch with the team at comms@basw.co.uk
- Let us know how you are marking this important day either on social media or contact the team at comms@basw.co.uk
