IPPR seeks members for Health and Care Workforce Assembly
The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) is looking for volunteers to join its Health and Care Workforce Assembly, which will act as an advisory group about how crises occur in the health and care workforce.
"The last year has been one of the most difficult ever for people working in health and care. Beyond the obvious physical health risks, the pandemic has impacted mental health and wellbeing. This came on the back of already difficult working conditions in the NHS. Record vacancies across almost every profession were leading to overwork, burn-out and mental ill health even before Covid-19 occurred.
"At IPPR, we’re interested in how crises occur in the health and care workforce. Our analysis indicates workforce crisis are often cyclical – as with the economy, we go through periods of boom and periods of bust. This research project is about breaking that cycle. It is about identifying what might cause the ‘busts’ of the future, of the 2030s and 2040s, and designing policy to pre-empt that today.”
The sessions will take place virtually, and there are four sessions planned which occur once a month.
