Join us in raising up the voice and influence of people who have used social work services in on social work research and publishing
British Journal of Social Work is inviting applications to the Journal Editorial Board from people who have lived experience of social work services. The aim is to recruit several new members with such experience to shape and influence the future work of the Journal. We are particularly interested in recruiting new members who also have prior experience of working in social work practice, research, education, and training.
The Journal covers every aspect of social work, with papers reporting research, discussing practice and policy, and examining principles and theories. It is read by social work educators, researchers, practitioners and managers - and others outside of social work - who wish to keep up to date with theoretical and empirical developments in the field. Members of the Editorial Board meet twice per year in January and July to shape and steer the work of the Journal. At present, Editorial Board meetings are taking place online. Prior to the pandemic, these meetings took place in Oxford. Newly recruited members will be remunerated for their work and any related support and travel expenses, if not able to attend as part of a salaried post (daily rate of £160 + support and travel expenses).
To apply, please submit a brief expression of interest which will include an overview of relevant prior experiences (one or two pages) to bjsw.editorialoffice@oup.com. If you require further information, please contact Rea Maglajlic (Editor) on R.A.Maglajlic@sussex.ac.uk.
Deadline for submissions: 30 June 2022
