MPs to debate impact of pandemic on social work

Westminster Hall debate will take place from 9:30am on Wednesday 23 March

BASW is pleased to announce that MPs will debate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on social work tomorrow (Wednesday 23 March) from 9:30am to 11:00am.

BASW supported Cat Smith MP in securing the debate - and has sent out detailed briefing notes to every MP in order to encourage their attendance and outline the key issues facing our profession, including:

Working conditions in social work
Recruitment and retention of social workers
Child protection
Human rights in residential care settings
Learning disabilities and autism
Poverty and inequality
Human Rights Act reform
