MPs to debate World Social Work Day

Ahead of the debate, BASW will be spending out a briefing to every MP

BASW has been supporting Social Work All-Party Parliamentary Group Co-Chair David Simmonds MP to apply for a debate in Parliament, to mark World Social Work Day.

BASW is delighted to announce that the application has been granted by the Backbench Business Committee.

To enable virtual proceedings, the debate will take place in a Parliamentary committee room instead of Westminster Hall, which is the normal location for Westminster Hall debates.

It will begin at 3:15pm on Thursday 18th March and will last 90 minutes. You can live-stream the debate here.

BASW will be spending out a briefing to every MP, tailored to their nation - and encourages members to email their local MP asking them to participate or intervene in the debate.
