NIASW Committee Vacancies
The NIASW Committee currently has two vacancies and applications are invited for membership.
The Northern Ireland Committee is the National Standing Committee for NIASW, part of BASW. NIASW Committee members work with staff to take forward the NIASW Strategic Plan.
The Committee usually meets late afternoon (4.30-7.00pm) approximately six times a year (usually on a bi-monthly basis) in the NIASW office, Ormeau Road, Belfast. Work is carried out between meetings along with NIASW staff. This may include being involved with development of NIASW policy and consultation responses, recruitment and promotion activities, representing NIASW on internal and external working groups and at conferences. Work with the committee can count towards PRTL to maintain your NISCC registration.
There is an Annual Meeting (21st March 2017) when annual elections to the Committee are held. There can be a maximum of 15 members sitting on the Committee. Members are elected for three years and have an option of a further three years dependent on re-election. A Chair and Deputy Chair are elected/agreed by the Committee from among their number. These posts are currently held by Marcella Leonard (Chair), Colin Reid (Deputy Chair) and Ciaran Traynor (Deputy Chair).
If you are committed to social work and interested in shaping and influencing the future work of NIASW we want to hear from you. The closing date for application forms is Friday 3rd March 2017.
Please feel free to ring the NIASW office should you wish to talk about committee membership.
