Social Work and Human Rights guides launched
Human Rights Day - 10th December 2019.
Social work is a human rights-based profession. A key milestone for the development of human rights in the UK was the Human Rights Act 1998.
Every day social workers across the UK tackle issues that are underpinned by human rights.
To mark this day BASW has launched two documents:
Social Work and Human Rights: A Practice Guide
Social Work and Human Rights: The International Context
We hope that these important new resources will help us to understand how important human rights are and how as a profession we can be at the forefront of defending existing human rights and building new rights and protections for the most vulnerable.
