World Conference launch for human rights website
A new website offering social workers practical advice on human rights has been launched by two leading global social work organisations.
The Human Rights Website, announced at the World Conference on Social Work in Hong Kong, provides theoretical analysis and case studies to assist social workers with dilemmas in key areas of practice.
“The website aims to be a living and regularly updated resource and social workers are invited to provide comments and feedback,” said Ruth Stark, IFSW human rights commissioner.
Human rights will be an important part of the “global action agenda” set to emerge from the conference, an agenda which the Human Rights Website’s sponsors, the International Federation of Social Workers and the International Association of Schools of Social Work, hope to implement with backing from the United Nations.
