BASW Cymru Early Career Series - Newly Qualified Social Workers Developing your professional identity in your first year of practice.

Every social worker knows how exciting the first year of professional practice can be – but also how daunting and hugely challenging it is too. We also know that solid foundations are essential for building strong and secure futures. Getting the right structure and support at the very start of your career will help you become a better social worker. Quality supervision, effective monitoring, manageable workloads and strong team working are all essential for our development as social workers – especially at the point of qualification – and that’s where BASW Cymru comes in……. We offer free independent NQSW Support Sessions for BASW Cymru members (non-members may attend the session as a free taster - please email cymru@basw.co.uk). These informal support sessions will be held online and provide a safe space for you to talk about your practice; share experiences; gain knowledge and talk about challenging issues! These sessions will be informal and quite structured, they will link in with our Early Career Practice Workshops (more on these soon!) but will also provide space for free-flowing discussion.
