Have Your Say : Childrens’ Hearing Redesign - Policy & Proposals

Following a 20-month review of the children’s hearings system, Hearings for Children: The report of the Hearings System Working Group was published on 25 May 2023. The Scottish Government are now undertaking a consultation exercise seeking views on the proposals for a redesign of the Childrens’ Hearing System which will aim to improve the experience of children, young people and families who need compulsory supervision to support safe care. The proposals are wide ranging with implications for social workers across a range of measures. SASW will respond to the consultation on behalf of members to ensure the views of the social work profession are represented. This event is an opportunity for members to find out more about the proposed changes and to express your views, ensuring SASW speaks with your voice. We will provide a summary of the relevant proposals and explore some key areas for consideration.
