SWU: There will be Social Workers working hard over the festive period
Since this is the festive season I, and SWU colleagues, wish you all a very Merry Christmas and we hope that you have a prosperous New Year.
Many of our members will continue to be providing a Social Work service over this period, protecting vulnerable children, young people, and adults. Keep up the brilliant work.
If fortunate enough to have some time off then do have a great festive break but somewhere there will be Social Workers working hard over the festive period providing a side to Social Work that the public rarely sees or media reporting on the great work we do 24hr 7 days a week 365 days of the year.
John McGowan, SWU General Secretary
Social Workers have all encompassing roles across society, little understood and often marginalised.
Thank you for continuing to do what you do at a time that seems to be one of the toughest of times for the profession.
SWU will continue to support, advocate, advise and represent our growing membership across Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales. In solidarity, I wish you all a Peaceful Christmas and a Safe New Year.
Be more! Join in! Speak up!
