BASW England welcomes ADASS report into reforming social care
The report outlines 10 key areas for change, including improving housing options, addressing social care staffing issues and making care more affordable. The full report is available to read here.
Responding to the report's publication, BASW England commented:
“We welcome the publication of ADASS’ report ‘Time to act: a roadmap to reform care and support in England’.
“The report rightly speaks with urgency and provides a clear pathway for change that can help save social care as we know it after years of false promises and Government failure.
“It is right that the need for good quality care is at heart of these plans and BASW England particularly support the need for social care leaders to be represented at decision-making level on Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) as well as professional social workers.
“We also reaffirm our belief that any plan for social care must include the integral role that social work plays in the delivery of care and in upholding the rights of people at the heart of the system.”
