BASW is proud to support Gypsy, Roma & Traveller History Month 2024.
GRT History Month

Through celebration and education, Gypsy, Roma & Traveller History Month amplifies the voices of the Gypsy, Roma & Traveller community.

It celebrates cultures and traditions, increases awareness and understanding, challenges myths and misconceptions and tackles prejudice and discrimination.

This year’s theme is “What does family mean to you?". Explore and reflect on what family means to you.

In June every year we celebrate Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Month and I was recently thinking about my second-year placement during my social work training where I was placed with the Educational Social Worker for the many different ethnic groups of Travellers in Oxfordshire County Council.
